Hello!
My name is Katherine Denzin and I am a writer and a poet. I've been writing stories ever since I can remember and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Please see some of my published projects as well as my CV and writers statement below.
Santa Clarita Sidewalk Poetry Contest
It was an honor to have a poem I wrote selected as a winner of the 2024 SCV Sidewalk Poetry Project. I was able to travel home in October to attend the reception and find where at least one instance of my poem lives.

The Potential of Tuesdays
I could go to get a haircut / or we could try the new restaurant that has shuffleboard over on Riverfront / We could realize they charge 20 bucks to play and relocate to our local dive bar / They have pool for $1.50 / We could order a round and play, wondering why nothing’s ever free / I could teach my friends to play pool and then invite our other friend who actually knows the rules / I could watch a movie on DVD and make popcorn seasoned with lime and Tajin / We could run to 7/11 to buy candy and a ticket for the lottery / While we’re there, I could get a Slurpee / I could jump in the lake in the heat of summer / Read a book in the grass / Go to bar trivia and come in dead last after we wager everything on the final question / I could cook myself an intricate dinner because I have nowhere to be / drink a glass of wine / check the numbers for the lottery / do anything that would normally be considered mundane or lame if it was the weekend.
